Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This app ("Accessible Judaism") is built to work entirely in your browser. This page explains, plainly, what data it touches and where it goes.
What this app collects
- Location (optional). If you tap "Use My Location" or enter a city in Settings, your coordinates are used to calculate zmanim (prayer times) and the direction to Jerusalem. This is sent directly from your device to Hebcal and, for city search, Open-Meteo — third-party services this app queries on your behalf. Your location is never sent to us; there is no server of ours in between.
- Preferences and personal notes, stored only on your device. Using your browser's local storage (
localStorage), this app remembers things like your chosen nusach, theme, transliteration setting, daily check-in/streak history, Kotel notes, yahrzeit entries, and cached prayer times — so they're there next time you open the app. None of this leaves your device or is visible to anyone but you. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app deletes it.
- A supporter license key, if you choose to enter one. If you redeem a Gumroad license key to unlock supporter status, that key is checked against Gumroad's servers directly from your browser. We don't store or see your purchase details ourselves.
What this app does not do
- No account, no sign-up, no email collection
- No analytics or tracking scripts as of this writing
- No selling or sharing of data — there's no backend of ours collecting anything to sell
- No access to your location, notes, or history by anyone other than you
Advertising
This app may display ads served by Google AdSense on pages outside the core prayer and study content. If enabled, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's own advertising policies. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings.
Third-party services this app calls
To do its job, this app makes requests directly from your browser to:
- Hebcal — zmanim, Jewish calendar, holiday data
- Sefaria — daily learning texts and calendar
- Open-Meteo — city name lookup
- Gumroad — license verification, only if you enter a supporter key
Each of these may have their own privacy practices for requests made to them; this policy only covers what this app itself does.
Changes to this policy
If what this app collects changes, this page will be updated to reflect it.
